<![CDATA[                                                                     Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi sekaligus menentukan tentang status mutu air berdasarkan kandungan senyawa fenol pada beberapa lokasi sumber air yang berada di daerah Distrik Jayapura Selatan Kota Jayapura. Adapun metode atau desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan mendeskripsikan data hasil penelitian dan studi kepustakaan dengan variable penelitian adalah status mutu air yang menggunakan teknik sampling yaitu Purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa status mutu air kali di beberapa lokasi penelitian ditinjau berdasarkan analisis laboratorium dan penentuan Indeks Pencemaran menunjukkan bahwa umumnya air yang berasal dari enam titik lokasi sampel telah tercemat mulai dari tercemar ringan hingga berat. Dengan demikian hasil tersebut tidak layak dimanfaatkan sesuai peruntukan air kelas I yaitu sebagai air minum.Kata Kunci: Status Mutu Air, Fenol, Kota Jayapura Abstract This research aims to provide information and decide on the status of water quality based on the content of phenolic compounds in some locations the water source located in the District of the southern city of Jayapura Jayapura. As for the research or design methods used are experiments with data describing the results of research and the study of librarianship with a variable water quality status of the research was that using sampling that is Purposive sampling. The results of this research indicate that status of the quality of the water in some locations of the research reviewed based on laboratory analysis and determination of the Pollution Index indicates that generally the water that comes from a six-point the location of the sample has started to tercemat from mild to heavy polluted.
