Partisipasi perempuan dalam pendidikan semakin mendapatkan momentumnya melalui indikator GDI (Gender Development Index) yaitu kesetaraan antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam usia harapan hidup, pendidikan dan jumlah pendapatan. Kenyataannya angka partisipasi perempuan dalam pendidikan masih rendah. Sejumlah faktor baik agama, budaya, sosial, politik dan budaya ditengarai menjadi penyebab. Pandangan perempuan yang penting melek huruf perlu diubah dengan meningkatkan kesetaraan akses pendidikan bagi perempuan. Peningkatan persentase pendidikan perempuan di Indonesia pada gilirannya akan dapat meningkatkan pencapaian MDGâs yaitu menurunkan angka kematian ibu, menurunkan angka kematian anak, dan memberantas kemiskinan.The participation of women in education is increasingly gaining its momentum through indicators GDI (Gender Development Index) which is concerning about equality between men and women in life expectancy , education and income amount . In fact the numbers of female participation in education is still low. A number of factors such as religious, cultural, social,and political factors suspected to be the main cause. The views about womenâs literacy are important to be changed to improve access to education for womenâs equality. The increase in the percentage of female education in Indonesia in turn will be able to improve the achievement of the MDGâs is to reduce maternal mortality, reduce child mortality, and combating poverty.
