Mata kuliah kajian IPS MI/SD merupakan salah satu mata kuliah wajib program studi yang diajarkan pada program studi PGMI UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. Media dalam pembelajaran IPS MI/SD salah satu materi yang diajarkan pada mata kuliah ini. Motivasi belajar mahasiswa sangat dibutuhkan dalam memahami materi ini. Agar mahasiswa lebih real dan termotivasi dalam proses perkuliahan, maka peneliti mendesain langsung media ular tangga yang permainannya berisi pertanyaan-pertanyaan seputar media pembelajaran. Untuk itu penelitian ini melihat penggunaan media ular tangga dalam mata kuliah IPS MI/SD terhadap motivasi mahasiswa PGMI. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu menguraikan fenomena yang terjadi saat media ular tangga dimainkan oleh mahasiswa PGMI terhadap motivasi belajarnya. Subjek penelitian mahasiswa semester 1A berjumlah 42 orang. Instrument yang digunakan lembar pengamatan motivasi belajar tmenggunakan media ular tangga. Temuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu media ular tangga dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah kajian IPS MI/SD dapat memotivasi belajar mahasiswa PGMI, yaitu sebanyak 36 orang mahasiswa memiliki motivasi yang sangat tinggi, dan 6 orang siswa lainnya memiliki motivasi tinggi. Media in MI/SD social studies learning is one of the materials taught in this course. Student motivation to learn is really needed in understanding this material. So that students are more realistic and motivated in the lecture process, the researchers directly designed snakes and ladders media whose game contains questions about learning media. For this reason, this research looks at the use of snakes and ladders media in MI/SD social studies courses on PGMI student motivation. This research is a descriptive qualitative type, which describes the phenomena that occur when snakes and ladders media is played by PGMI students regarding their learning motivation. The research subjects for semester 1A students were 42 people. The instrument used was the learning motivation observation sheet using snakes and ladders media. The findings in this research are that the snakes and ladders media in learning MI/SD social studies courses can motivate PGMI students' learning, namely 36 students have very high motivation, and 6 other students have high motivation.
