The title of this study is the effect of applying punishment on speaking skill (a survey study among fifth-grade female students at the Misbahul Ulum Paloh Lhokseumawe). The research aims to know the effect of applying punishment on the speaking skill of fifth-grade female students at the Misbahul Ulum. The research method used is the quantitative approach using a survey method to collect data. The population is the fifth grade female students, comprising 122 students. The sample in this research is 55 female students. The data collection tool in this research is by using the questionnaire. The result of this research is that 5,700 < 1,676 t count>t table. The result of R Square is 0.380, 38.0%, so it is known that there is an effect of the punishment on obedience to speech skill at a rate of 38.0%. This indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The application of punishment affects the speaking skill of fifth-grade female students at the Misbahul Ulum, Paloh Lhokseumawe.
