Abstrak Dalam perkembangan perekonomian Indonesia saat ini, alat pembayaran tidak lagi menggunakan uang tunai, melainkan bilyet giro sebagai alternatif pembayaran. Namun, muncul permasalahan terkait dengan penerbitan bilyet giro kosong yang tidak memiliki dana yang cukup. Hal ini menciptakan ketidakpastian dan risiko keuangan yang dapat menghambat kepercayaan pelaku ekonomi serta mengganggu stabilitas sistem keuangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengawasan ketat terhadap penerbitan bilyet giro dan regulasi yang jelas untuk melindungi kepentingan semua pihak dalam sistem pembayaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan perlindungan hukum dan akibat hukum terhadap penerbitan bilyet giro kosong dalam akitivitas pembayaran. Hasil penelitian bahwa perlindungan hukum penerima bilyet giro kosong dengan diberikan sarana untuk melakukan penuntutan ganti rugi dimuka persidangan atas tuntutan hak yang tidak terpuni dari si penerbit dan juga peneribat dimasukkan ke daftar hitan oleh BI sebagai bentuk akibat hukum dari penerbitan bilyet giro kosong Kata Kunci: Bilyet Giro, Pembayaran, Perlindungan Abstract In the current development of the Indonesian economy, cash is no longer used as a means of payment, but bank transfer cards are used as an alternative payment. However, problems arose related to the issuance of blank giro bills, which did not have sufficient funds. This creates uncertainty and financial risks that can hamper the confidence of economic actors and disrupt the stability of the financial system. Therefore, strict supervision is needed over the issuance of bilyet giro and clear regulations to protect the interests of all parties in the payment system. This research aims to find legal protection and legal consequences for the issuance of blank giro bills in payment activities. The results of the research show that legal protection for recipients of blank giro bills is provided with the means to prosecute compensation before court for claims of unforgivable rights from the issuer, and the recipient is also included in the hit list by BI as a form of legal consequence of the issuance of blank giro bills.
