Dewa Tertinggi “Puang Matua” dalam Kepercayaan Aluk To Dolo

Abstract

Each religious tradition has its own name for Hyang Ilahi. In general, the figure of Hyang Ilahi is commonly referred to as God, Allah, Gusti, dewa, and others. These names indicate the relationship and understanding of a particular society or community towards the Divine Being. This research using qualitative methods through literature study, field observations, and interviews aims to explain the understanding of divinity in Aluk To Dolo Religious tradition, especially the existence of Puang Matua. The results show that the Aluk To Dolo Religious tradition has a divine figure that they worship and praise, namely Puang Matua. Aluk To Dolo adherents always aim for unity with Puang Matua through all the rules of life that have been passed down by Puang Matua as norms that must be obeyed. In addition, they hope to be reunited and live with Puang Matua.AbstrakSetiap aliran kepercayaan memiliki penyebutan masing-masing untuk Hyang Ilahi. Secara umum, sosok Hyang Ilahi ini ini biasa disebut dengan nama Tuhan, Allah, Gusti, dewa, dan lain-lain. Nama-nama ini menunjukkan relasi dan pemahaman masyarakat atau komunitas tertentu akan Hyang Ilahi tersebut. Penelitian dengan metode kualitatif melalui studi pustaka, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan paham ketuhanan dalam kepercayaan Aluk To Dolo, khususnya eksistensi Puang Matua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepercayaan Aluk To Dolo memiliki sosok Ilahi yang mereka sembah dan puji, yakni Puang Matua. Para penganut Aluk To Dolo selalu mengarah kepada kesatuan dengan Puang Matua melalui segala aturan hidup yang telah diturunkan oleh Puang Matua sebagai norma yang harus ditaati. Selain itu, mereka berharap dapat dipersatukan kembali dan hidup bersama Puang Matua.
