Abstract

Intensitas kebutuhan penerjemahan Arab-Indonesia meningkat secara drastis di Indonesia. Penerjemahan yang baik dilakukan dengan proses yang matang dengan alur yang benar. Adanya tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerjemahan mahasiswa jurusan sastra Arab Universitas Negeri Malang 2018. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk memaparkan tahapan yang dilalui mahasiswa dalam menerjemahkan tugas dari awal hingga akhir. Analisis proses penerjemahan dilakukan dengan mengkaji hasil terjemahan mahasiswa terkait alat, metode, dan teknik yang digunakan, serta wawancara secara berkala untuk mengetahui proses yang lebih detail. Subjek penelitian diambil dari tugas latihan penerjemahan sebanyak 240 halaman dan tugas komentar hasil terjemahan teman. Objek penelitian terdiri dari 6 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa proses penerjemahan mahasiswa diawali dengan analisis dan internalisasi BSu. Metode penerjemahan yang digunakan mahasiswa 1 dan 5 adalah terjemah bebas; mahasiswa 2, 3, dan 6  terjemah harfiah; mahasiswa 4 terjemah semantik. Teknik yang sering digunakan oleh keenam mahasiswa diantaranya transposisi, modulasi, substitusi, dan reduksi. Langkah akhir keenam mahasiswa adalah evaluasi oleh teman sejawat. Kata kunci: proses penerjemahan; tugas mata kuliah latihan penerjemahan; mahasiswa jurusan sastra Arab The Translation Process in The Assignment of Practical Translation Course for Arabic Literature Students The intensity of the need for Arabis-Indonesia translation has increasing drastically in Indonesia. Good translation is done with a mature process with the right flow. The purpose of this paper is to describe the translation process of Arabic Literature students 2018 at the State University of Malang. Descriptive qualitative research methods are used to describe the stages that students go through in translating assignments from beginning to end. Analysis of the translation process is carried out by reviewing the results of student translations regarding the methods, techniques and tools used, as well as periodic interviews to find out a more detailed process. The research subjects were taken from a 240 page translation practice assignment and a friend's translation of a commentary assignment. The object of research consists of 6 students. The results of the study reveal that the student translation process begins with the analysis and internalization of RSV. The translation method used by students 1 and 5 is free translation; student 2, 3, and 6 used literal translation; student 4 used semantic translation. The techniques used by the six students include transposition, modulation, description equivalent, substitution, and reduction. The final step of the sixth student is evaluation by peers.
