MAZE ANGKA: MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR SIMBOLIK ANAK USIA DINI

Abstract

Berpikir simbolik merupakan kemampuan  menggunakan simbol-simbol seperti angka, huruf, dan gambar. Anak usia dini masih memiliki kendala dalam berpikir simbolik. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya kurang adanya stimulus pada anak dalam menerapkan alat permainan edukatif yang menarik. Pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan salah satunya yaitu  maze angka. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui peningkatan berpikir simbolik pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tindakan kelas dengan model  Kemmis dan Taggart, yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Subjek penelitian kelompok B berjumlah 10 anak. Pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara,dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan  data kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan berpikir simbolik prasiklus dalam kriteria belum berkembang dengan persentase 47% atau lima anak, pada siklus I memperoleh hasil yang sama 33% dengan kriteria berkembang sangat baik dan mulai berkembang sebanyak enam anak sedangkan kriteria berkembang sesuai harapan  dan belum berkembang sebanyak empat anak. Pada siklus II, 68% atau tujuh anak dengan kriteria berkembang sangat baik, sedangkan kriteria berkembang sesuai harapan dan mulai berkembang sebanyak tiga anak. Dari data yang diperoleh melalui alat permainan edukatif maze angka dapat meningkatkan  kemampuan anak berpikir simbolik. Symbolic thinking is the ability to use symbols such as numbers, letters, and images. Early childhood still has obstacles in symbolic thinking. One of the factors causing this is the lack of stimulus for children to use interesting educational game tools. One of the lessons that can be used is the number maze. The aim is to determine the increase in symbolic thinking in early childhood. This research uses the classroom action method with the Kemmis and Taggart model, which consists of two cycles. Group B research subjects consisted of 10 children. Data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data. Based on the research results, it shows that the pre-cycle symbolic thinking ability in the criteria has not yet developed with a percentage of 47% or five children, in the first cycle the same results were 33% with the criteria developing very well and starting to develop as many as six children, while the criteria developed as expected and not yet developed as many as four children. In cycle II, 68% of seven children with the criteria developed very well, while the criteria developed as expected and three children began to develop. The data obtained through the number maze educational game tool can improve children's ability to think symbolically.
