Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami kehidupan ekonomi guru SMP Darul Ulum Karang Pandan dan kontribusi usaha sampingan terhadap kesejahteraan mereka. Fokus utamanya adalah bagaimana guru-guru tersebut mengelola keuangan mereka, terutama dalam konteks penghasilan utama dari profesi mengajar yang terbatas, serta memanfaatkan usaha sampingan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi dan subjektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi, dengan data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan lima guru yang memiliki usaha sampingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Gaji guru yang terbatas menyebabkan ketidakstabilan ekonomi, mendorong mereka mencari penghasilan tambahan; (2) Meskipun kondisi ekonomi terbatas, kesejahteraan subjektif tetap tinggi; (3) Literasi keuangan membantu pengambilan keputusan ekonomi yang bijak; (4) Usaha sampingan menjadi sumber penghasilan tambahan yang signifikan; dan (5) Pengaturan keuangan yang baik membantu menjaga stabilitas ekonomi dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan. Kata kunci: kehidupan ekonomi, kesejahteraan ekonomi, guru SMP, usaha sampingan, literasi keuangan This study aims to understand the economic life of teachers at SMP Darul Ulum Karang Pandan and the contribution of side businesses to their welfare. The main focus is on how these teachers manage their finances, especially in the context of limited primary income from the teaching profession, and utilize side businesses to improve economic and subjective well-being. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach, with data obtained through in-depth interviews with five teachers who have side businesses. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Limited teacher salaries cause economic instability, prompting them to seek additional income; (2) Despite limited economic conditions, subjective well-being remains high; (3) Financial literacy helps make wise economic decisions; (4) Side businesses are a significant source of additional income; and (5) Good financial management helps maintain economic stability and improve welfare.
