<![CDATA[Students' understanding of the subject matter has a great influence on achieving the learning objectives especially in mathematical learning because students' critical thinking skills can be enhanced by learning mathematics using an inquiry-based learning model. The reasons for the improvement of students' critical thinking skills towards learning mathematics and can be called mathematical problem solving abilities are taken from the learning objectives listed in Permendiknas No. 22 Year 2006, in which the importance of this variable of mathematic problem-solving ability to each student is listed. This research uses qualitative research methods with facts found in the field. The data collection technique used is to give a description test to a high school student. The research population is the entire students of the eighth grade of 26 private high school students Jambi Medan. As a result of the application of the learning inquiry model in the private high school in Jambi Medan, students can respond well so that students are more active in the learning process. This study shows that the use of the Inquiry Based Learning learning model has an impact on the mathematical learning outcomes of students in high school.]]>
