Abstract

ABSTRACTFiber concrete is a composite concrete consisting of ordinary concrete and fiber materials. The purposeof adding fiber is to increase the tensile strength of concrete, so that concrete is resistant to tensile forces due toweather, climate and temperature. In this research, the manufacture of mortar with banner fiber added materialwas carried out to determine the compressive strength, flexural strength, and tensile strength of fibrous mortar.The method used is an experimental method by adding synthetic fiber Polyvinyl Chloride in banner waste as anadded ingredient in the manufacture of fibrous mortar. The variation of banner waste fiber used is 0%, 1%, 2%and 3%. The fiber length used is 10 x 1 mm. From the test results, it was found that the compressive strengthand flexural strength of the mortar decreased and the tensile strength of the mortar increased at a percentage of1.51% by 1.66 MPa. The average yield of axial tensile strength at 1% is 1.70 MPa, 2% is 1.49 MPa, 3% is 1.42MPa which is higher than the average axial tensile strength at 0% mortar of 1. 35%.Keywords: banner fiber waste; fiber concrete; fiber mortar. ABSTRAK Beton berserat merupakan beton komposit yang terdiri dari beton biasa dan bahan serat. Tujuanditambahkan serat untuk meningkatkan kekuatan tarik beton, sehingga beton tahan terhadap gaya tarik akibatdari cuaca, iklim dan temperatur. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan mortar dengan bahan tambah seratbanner untuk mengetahui kuat tekan, kuat lentur, kuat tarik pada mortar berserat. Metode yang dilakukan adalahmetode eksperimen dengan menambahkan serat sintesis Polyvinil Chlorida yang ada pada limbah bannersebagai bahan tambah dalam pembuatan mortar berserat. Variasi serat limbah banner yang digunakan adalah0%, 1%, 2% dan 3%. Panjang serat yang digunakan berukuran 10 x 1 mm. Dari hasil pengujian didapatkan kuattekan dan kuat lentur mortar menurun dan kuat tarik mortar meningkat pada persentase 1,51% sebesar 1,66MPa. Hasil rata-rata kuat tarik aksial pada persentase 1% sebesar 1,70 MPa, 2% sebesar 1,49 MPa, 3% sebesar1,42 MPa yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rata-rata kuat tarik aksial pada mortar 0% sebesar 1,35%.Kata kunci: beton berserat, mortar berserat; serat limbah banner.
