This article will describe the application of self-assessment instruments in class VIII Indonesian language subjects at MTs Al Awwabin Surgery. The research technique uses field observation. Research data collection uses a questionnaire. The questionnaire contains 10 statements related to self-assessment using a Likert scale. The population of class VII students at MTs Al-Awwabin Surgery is 13 students. Data were analyzed using non-test assessment theory in the form of self-assessment techniques. The results of this research found that the percentage of self-assessment in class VIII Indonesian language subjects at MTs Al-Awwabin Surgeryan obtained the highest percentage level in statement 5, namely 94% of students were able to respect the opinions of friends in the group. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage level obtained in statement 1 was 75% of students actively involved in group work..Keywords: Indonesian; non-test; self-assessmentAbstrakArtikel ini akan mendeskripsikan  penerapan instrumen penilaian diri pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas VIII di MTs Al Awwabin Bedahan. Teknik penelitian menggunakan observasi lapangan. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan angket. Angket tersebut berisi 10 pernyataan yang berkaitan dengan penilaian diri dengan menggunakan skala likert. Populasi siswa kelas VII MTs Al-Awwabin Bedahan yang berjumlah 13 siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori penilaian nontes berupa teknik penilaian diri. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa persentase penilaian diri pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas VIII di MTs Al-Awwabin Bedahan diperoleh tingkat persentase tertinggi pada pernyataan 5 sebesar 94% siswa mampu menghargai pendapat teman dalam kelompok.
