The purpose of writing this article is to find out the Indonesian Language Identity in the Era of Globalization for Indonesian Language Teachers at SMPN 6 Medan where there are several problems with the phenomenon of globalization which can cause Indonesian language to “lose its identity” or “lose national character”. Education is built to be better from one generation to the next. In the process of education and learning, students are expected to have skills and knowledge that are useful for their lives. The method used in this research is Descriptive Qualitative Method. descriptive research aims to describe facts accurately and systematically and characteristics about certain populations or fields. The results that can be concluded from this research are Globalization has a significant impact on language development, including Indonesian. Indonesian language teachers must understand the linguistic and cultural changes that occur in order to teach students in a relevant and effective way. In the analysis of Indonesian language identity, teachers need to realize the importance of maintaining the authenticity of Indonesian language and Indonesian cultural values in the midst of globalization.
