Abstract

ABSTRACT This article reviews the comparison between asset protection (Hifdz al-Mal) in sharia and conventional banking based on literature study. Islamic banking, which operates with Islamic sharia principles, places special emphasis on the concepts of fairness, transparency and loss prevention to customers. Meanwhile, conventional banking focuses on the interest system and profitability. Although both have the main goal of protecting customer assets, the methods and approaches they use differ significantly. This research describes the key aspects of both systems, examines the principles underlying them, and provides insight into how they offer protection to customers' assets.
