This research is motivated by the problem of low mathematical understanding ability among students, which is due to many educators still using direct (teacher-centered) learning that focuses only on the teacher, making students less active and bored in learning. One innovation to address this issue is the implementation of the cooperative learning model type Team Games Tournament assisted by magic straw media, which is expected to improve students' learning outcomes and mathematical understanding abilities. This study aims to determine the improvement and impact on students' mathematical understanding abilities in geometry for fourth-grade students in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research type used is quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent kontrol group design. The research sample consists of fourth-grade students at SDN 10 Nagri Kaler, with 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the kontrol class. The conclusion drawn is that the mathematical understanding ability of students using the cooperative learning model type Team Games Tournament improves better compared to the conventional model, and there is a 12% impact on students' mathematical understanding abilities using the Team Games Tournament model.
