Abstract

Kemampuan representasi matematis yang dimiliki siswa kelas IV SDN 17 Nagri Kaler masih tergolong rendah. Hal itu disebabkan karena dalam proses pembelajaran matematika yang diterapkan di SDN 17 Nagri Kaler masih bersifat konvensional, yaitu pemberian materi langsung pada tahap simbolik, pemberian contoh-contoh serta soal latihan, menyebabkan siswa cenderung menghafal materi dan bekerja secara procedural. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah pembelajaran matematika realistik dalam pembelajaran materi pokok pecahan untuk siswa kelas IV SDN 17 Nagri Kaler tahun pelajaran 2014/2015, (2) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan representasi siswa kelas IV SDN 17 Nagri Kaler tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 tentang materi pokok pecahan melalui pembelajaran matematika realistik. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas IV SDN 17 Nagri Kaler Purwakarta. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan matematika realistik dalam pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dan aktivitas siswa kelas IV di IV SDN 17 Nagri Kaler.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical reasoning abilities for primary school students. This research aims at looking at the effect of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach on the enhancement of mathematical reasoning abilities of primary school students. This research method is a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design in Mathematics subjects with the theme of data presentation. The research sample consisted of 121 fifth grade students in two primary schools in Bekasi Regency. The test and non-test instruments were involved in this research. The results revealed that there wasthe influence between the CPA approach and students' mathematical reasoning abilities, and the achievement and enhancement of mathematical reasoning abilities of students who got learning with the CPA approach werebetter than students who got conventional learning based on all student review and a category of Prior Mathematical Ability (PMA) high, moderate and low. In conclusion, the mathematical reasoning ability of primary school students can be improved by applying the CPA approach.

Abstract

The 21st-century skills are skills that students must master to survive and compete in this 4.0 industrial revolution era. Teachers need to have good professional competence in order to facilitate students to develop 21st-century skills. This also applies to elementary school teachers. Therefore, the teacher needs training that can provide knowledge and skills for teachers to present such learning. The training program participant is an elementary school teacher at the Indonesian School of Johor Bahru Malaysia. The problem identified is that not all SIJB's primary school teachers have diverse educational backgrounds, and the learning presented is not based on 21st-century skills. The participants of this training are 19 teachers. The program is web-based training using the ADDIE model. This training is conducted in three stages, namely the pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation stages. At the implementation stage, there are eight meetings containing materials on 21st Century Skills-based learning in Indonesian Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Civics, English, Arts, ICT, innovative learning models and learning life skills. Participants were given a pretest and posttest understanding of 21st Century learning. The pretest results showed an average value of 60.8, which means that participants' understanding of 21st Century learning is still quite good and the posttest average score of 84.5, which means that understanding participants is good. The result shows that the participants' understanding increased after attending the training. Based on the questionnaire results, the participant's response was quite good, and hoped that the training activities could be carried out on an ongoing basis. Abstract

This research was motivated2by the low science literacy1ability of grade 4 elementary5school students. This study aims to find out: 1) the improvement of science literacy skills0of students4who use digital flipbook-assisted STEM approaches is better than students who use scientific approaches; 2) the effect of digital flipbook-assisted STEM approaches on students' science literacy skills. This1type1of research is quasi-experimental. The sample6of this study1was grade 4 elementary school students, consisting of grade 4 A7as an experimental2class and grade 4 B as8a control9class. The instruments in this study are in the form of science literacy ability tests and5non-tests in the form of student worksheets6and documentation. The results of data analysis showed that the experimental class using the digital flipbook-assisted1STEM approach obtained an0increase of 0.81 (high1category) while1the control class using a scientific approach7obtainedyan increase of 0.42 (medium0category) and there was an influence2ofcthe digital flipbook-assisted1STEM approach in increasing students' science literacy0skills by 28.9%. The conclusions of this study are: (1) Learning with a digital flipbook-assisted STEM approach is better at improving students' science4literacy skills5compared to scientific approaches; (2) The digital flipbook-assisted STEM2approach has an influence on5the science7literacy skills of elementary school0students.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan membuat instrumen tes yang sesuai dengan indikator berpikir logis matematis untuk memahami kemampuan berpikir logis matematis siswa kelas lima sekolah dasar pada materi pecahan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Research and Development. Dilaksanakan pada satu sekolah dasar yang berada di Karawang, SD Puri Artha dengan partisipan 30 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis kemampuan berpikir logis matematis. Instrumen tersebut memuat beberapa indikator berpikir logis matematis diantaranya: 1) Menuliskan makna terkait jawaban pendapat yang logis; 2) Menuliskan hubungan antar konsep yang dipahami dengan fakta ; 3) Menelaah dan menganalisis berdasar logika; 4) Merampungkan permasalahan matematis dengan rasional; serta 5) Membuat kesimpulan yang logis. Soal-soal tersebut dibuat terlebih dahulu sesuai saran expert, kemudian diuji untuk melihat validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, dan indeks daya beda soal. Analisis uji validitas menunjukkan bahwa 20 butir soal pada instrumen tersebut valid dan reliabilitas instrumen tes sangat tinggi. Sedangkan tingkat kesukaran tergolong mudah, sukar dan sedang, dan daya bedanya juga termasuk kriteria cukup, baik dan sangat baik. Dengan demikian, 20 butir soal yang dikembangkan tersebut dapat diterapkan sebagai instrumen untuk mengukur berpikir logis matematis. Dalam pembelajaran matematika pada operasi hitung bilangan pecahan siswa kelas lima SD.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the application of learning with a scientific approach assisted by augmented reality has an impact on students' ability to think critically in learning mathematics. Using a quasi-experimental research method consisting of a control group as a comparison and an experimental group as a group that will receive treatment in the form of the application of a scientific approach assisted by augmented reality in learning mathematics. Data were collected through a critical thinking ability test used to measure the critical thinking abilities of students in the experimental class and the control class after treatment. The results of this study indicate that students' basic abilities in critical thinking in learning mathematics are influenced by the scientific approach assisted by augmented reality. The scientific approach using augmented reality can effectively improve students' ability to think critically after being applied during learning activities. This is indicated by the achievement and improvement of critical thinking abilities of students in the experimental class better than students in the control class.   Keywords: augmented reality, critical thinking skill, scienthific approach

Abstract

The Eco Maggot Workshop at SD Laboratorium UPI Purwakarta aimed to raise awareness among teachers and parents about the importance of managing food waste through the promotion of zero food waste practices and the introduction of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots as a solution for handling organic waste. This workshop was designed to enhance participants' understanding of the environmental impact of food waste and to offer innovative solutions for its management. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study research method, where data was collected through observation and interviews with workshop participants. The findings revealed that participants experienced increased awareness and motivation to implement zero food waste practices both in their schools and households. The use of maggots as an organic waste management solution was also perceived as effective by the participants.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Polya approach in enhancing mathematical problem-solving skills among fourth-grade elementary students, particularly in the topic of plane figures. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method involving all 28 students of grade 4 at SDN 3 Sindangkasih using a saturated sampling technique. The main instrument was a written test consisting of three open-ended questions designed according to Polya's stages: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. The results revealed that 75% of students successfully solved problems with lower complexity, while all students failed on higher-complexity questions requiring analysis and spatial visualization. The main obstacles were found in the initial stage of understanding the problem and in students' weak mastery of basic concepts and spatial visualization. The study recommends systematic implementation of the Polya approach, use of concrete media, and intensive scaffolding to optimize mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman matematis siswa yang menyebabkan nilai siswa kurang dalam pembelajaran. Rendahnya pemahaman matematis siswa karena peran guru yang kurang dalam memanfaatkan media pembelajaran. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem-based learning berbantuan media e-komik terhadap peningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa di sekolah dasar dan juga untuk mengetahui perbandingan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran model problem-based learning berbantuan media e-komik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuasi ekperimen desain non-equivalent control-group design, jumlah siswa sebanyak 41 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan instrument pre-test dan post-test, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan sebesar 39%. Hasil uji N-Gain berada pada kualifikasi stinggi dengan interpretasi efektif, sementara pada kelas kontrol berada pada kualifikasi sedang dengan interpretasi kurang efektif. Hal ini berarti penggunaan model problem-based learning berbantuan media e-komik lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran cooprative learning. Peneliti merekomendasikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya menggunakan e-komik dengan pembelajaran yang lebih rutin.
