The issue of gender equality remains a sensitive topic in Islamic educational institutions, especially in Islamic boarding schools. Some believe that in the socio-religious context of Islamic boarding schools, women still experience subordination. This is a concern for a number of Islamic boarding schools that are trying to make this issue an integral part of their activities, such as the Al-Istiqomah Cibeber Cianjur Islamic Boarding School. The purpose of this article is to discuss the implementation of gender justice at the boarding school. Through a qualitative approach with observations and in-depth interviews with boarding school administrators and male and female students, this research resulted in the finding that the Al-Istiqomah Cibeber Cianjur Islamic Boarding School has implemented gender justice values in the Islamic boarding school's socio-religious traditions. For example, they give female students the opportunity to hold the position of head of the boarding school, give female students the freedom to study directly with the kyai, and give female teachers (ustadzah) the opportunity to participate in forums with male students.
