Social media has become a major platform for shaping public opinion, especially in the political context. This phenomenon emerged along with the development of digital technology that allows for the rapid and widespread dissemination of information. Social media is used by political actors to convey messages, build narratives, and influence public views on certain issues. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to analyze the types of content that most influence public perception. The results show that visual content, personal narratives, and fact-based data have a significant influence on shaping public opinion, while sensational and provocative content often causes polarization and the spread of disinformation. Social media, although it has great potential in building healthy opinions, also requires adequate digital literacy from users to overcome these challenges.
