PENGARUH METODE TAPPS TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH SISWA DALAM MATERI FUNGSI EKSPONENSIAL DI SMA

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam materi fungsi eksponensial di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 42 siswa kelas X MIPA 5 dan 42 siswa kelas X MIPA 7. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Cluster Sampling. Analisis hasil data menggunakan analisis skor gain. Hasil analisis dengan uji-t sampel bebas menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang diajar dengan metode TAPPS lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diajar dengan metode ekspositori. Hasil perhitungan effect size dengan rumus Eta Squared menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran TAPPS dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa sebesar 20% dengan kategori effect size sedang.   Kata kunci: Pemecahan masalah, Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving Abstract: This research aims to determine Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) method effect on grade X student’s problem-solving ability in exponential function at SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak. The research method was quasy experiment method with Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of this research were 42 students of class X MIPA 5 and 42 students of class X MIPA 7. Samples were determined by cluster sampling technique. Analyzed of data using gain scores. From the result of gain score analysis using independent samples t-test shows that the students’ problem solving abilities taught by TAPPS learning method is higher than students taught by expository method. The result of the calculation of effect size with the Eta Squared’s formula. It shows that the effect size obtained was 20% and classified as having a medium effect on students' problem-solving abilities.   Keywords: Problem Solving, Think Aloud Pair Problem Solving
