Abstract

Kesadaran religius merupakan aspek penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan kepribadian siswa, terutama di era modern dengan tantangan globalisasi yang kompleks. Salah satu cara efektif untuk meningkatkan kesadaran religius siswa adalah melalui pendekatan kegiatan shalat berjamaah di sekolah, yang tidak hanya menjadi sarana ibadah wajib, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai media pembinaan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran religius siswa SMPN 1 Muara Ancalong melalui penerapan shalat berjamaah secara rutin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi observasi partisipatif terhadap kegiatan shalat berjamaah di sekolah dan wawancara dengan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI),guru Bimbingan dan Konseling,serta siswa yang terlibat secara aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan aktif dalam shalat berjamaah berdampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran religius siswa, di mana mereka lebih memahami nilai-nilai kedisiplinan, kebersamaan, dan tanggung jawab. Kegiatan ini juga membantu dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai keagamaan secara praktis, yang memperkuat konsep-konsep religius yang telah dipelajari di kelas. Guru PAI memainkan peran penting sebagai fasilitator, pembimbing, dan model keteladanan dalam pelaksanaan shalat berjamaah, yang berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi siswa. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan shalat berjamaah terbukti efektif sebagai strategi pembentukan kesadaran religius dan dapat diintegrasikan dalam program pembinaan karakter di sekolah. Penerapan strategi ini secara berkelanjutan diharapkan mampu menghasilkan generasi yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik, tetapi juga memiliki fondasi keagamaan yang kuat serta toleran terhadap keberagaman Religious awareness is an essential aspect in shaping students' character and personality, especially in the modern era with complex globalization challenges. One effective way to enhance students' religious awareness is through the practice of congregational prayer activities in schools, which not only serves as a means of obligatory worship but also functions as a medium for character building. This study aims to explore strategies for enhancing the religious awareness of students at SMPN 1 Muara Ancalong through the routine implementation of congregational prayers. The research methods used include participatory observation of congregational prayer activities in the school and interviews with Islamic Education (PAI) teachers and actively participating students. The results indicate that active engagement in congregational prayer significantly impacts the improvement of students' understanding and religious awareness, as they gain a deeper appreciation for values such as discipline, togetherness, and responsibility. This activity also helps instill religious values practically, reinforcing the religious concepts taught in the classroom. PAI teachers play an important role as facilitators, mentors, and role models in the conduct of congregational prayers, positively influencing student motivation. In conclusion, congregational prayer approaches have proven effective as strategies for fostering religious awareness and can be integrated into character-building programs in schools. The sustainable application of this strategy is expected to produce a generation that excels academically and has a strong religious foundation and tolerance for diversity.
