Abstract

Abstract The concept of using waste materials in road construction has gained significant attention due to increased awareness of environmental issues and the circular economy. This research aims to explore the potential of wastematerials, such as fly ash, plastic waste, and steel slag, as sustainable alternatives to traditional constructionmaterials. The methodology used in this study is a literature analysis of various empirical studies on theeffectiveness and efficiency of recycled materials in enhancing road pavement stability and durability. The findingsindicate that recycled materials not only offer economic and environmental benefits but also meet the technicalstandards required in road construction. The application of recycled materials in road infrastructure developmentis a strategic step toward reducing dependence on natural resources and supporting environmentally friendlyconstruction.Keywords: recycled materials, road construction, sustainable development, fly ash, plastic waste Abstrak Konsep penggunaan material limbah dalam konstruksi jalan raya telah mendapatkan perhatian yang signifikan seiring meningkatnya kesadaran terhadap isu lingkungan dan ekonomi sirkular. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mengeksplorasi potensi penggunaan material limbah, seperti abu terbang, limbah plastik, dan terak baja,sebagai alternatif material konstruksi yang lebih berkelanjutan. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian iniadalah analisis literatur dari berbagai studi empiris tentang efektivitas dan efisiensi bahan daur ulang dalammeningkatkan stabilitas dan daya tahan perkerasan jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa material daur ulangtidak hanya memberikan manfaat ekonomi dan lingkungan, tetapi juga memenuhi standar teknis yang diperlukandalam konstruksi jalan. Penerapan material daur ulang dalam pembangunan infrastruktur jalan merupakan langkahstrategis untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pada material alami dan mendukung pembangunan yang ramahlingkungan.
