Abstract

Seiring bertambahnya usia, tubuh akan mengalami berbagai proses penuaan yang secara bertahap mengakibatkan penurunan daya tahan fisik dan efisiensi fisiologis. Fenomena ini sering kali menjadi pemicu munculnya penyakit degeneratif seperti hipertensi, yang dapat berdampak secara signifikan terhadap kualitas hidup. Angka hipertensi di Kota Kediri, diketahui sudah mencapai angka 38.204 penderita pada tahun 2023. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dalam bentuk edukasi interaktif bagi lansia sebagai bentuk pencegahan terhadap penyakit hipertensi yang bertujuan untuk memberdayakan lansia dengan pengenalan Teknik Hydrotheraphy. Kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab serta demonstrasi pada 30 lansia di Kelurahan Setonopande, Kota Kediri. Capaian keberhasilan kegiatan diukur dengan dengan menggunakan penilaian peningkatan pengetahuan lansia. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini terbukti secara efektif 86,6% dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan lansia dan turut berpartisipasi untuk melakukan Hydrotheraphy sebagai salah satu teknik pencegahan penyakit hipertensi. Teknik Hydrotheraphy harapannya dapat dilakukan di setiap kegiatan posyandu lansia dan di rumah masing-masing, serta diikuti dengan berperilaku hidup sehat, sebagai bentuk pencegahan penyakit hipertensi.Abstract. As we age, the body will experience various aging processes that gradually result in decreased physical endurance and physiological efficiency. This phenomenon often triggers the emergence of degenerative diseases such as hypertension, which can have a significant impact on quality of life. The number of hypertension in Kediri City is known to have reached 38,204 sufferers in 2023. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out Community Service in the form of interactive education for the elderly as a form of prevention against hypertension which aims to empower the elderly with the introduction of Hydrotherapy Techniques. The activity was carried out using lecture and question and answer methods as well as demonstrations on 30 elderly people in Setonopande Village, Kediri City. The achievement of the success of the activity was measured by using an assessment of increasing elderly knowledge. This Community Service has proven to be 86.6% effective in increasing the knowledge of the elderly and participating in carrying out Hydrotherapy as one of the techniques for preventing hypertension. It is hoped that the Hydrotherapy Technique can be carried out in every elderly posyandu activity and in their respective homes, and followed by a healthy lifestyle, as a form of preventing hypertension
