Gender equality is one of the important issues in education. Gender is the apparent difference between men and women when viewed from values and behavior. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach where the type of research is field research using data collection methods in the form of observation, in-depth interviews and literature studies. This study aims to examine and find out how students and teachers understand gender equality in the context of Islamic education, as well as what practices and policies exist in schools that support or hinder gender equality in Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that both teachers and students have a fairly good understanding of the importance of gender equality in education. SMPN 05 Muara Bengalon has begun implementing inclusive policies that encourage equal access and opportunities between men and women. With additional support in the form of training programs, socialization campaigns, and strengthening gender-based policies, the implementation of the principle of gender equality in this school is expected to run more effectively and sustainably.
