The aim of this research was to improve students’ reading ability by using wall chart. The research was done in two cycles, it was a classroom action research. The subject for this research was the eleventh-grade students in class XI MIA B. The writer observed students’ improvement in reading ability by collecting data through observation checklist field notes and multiple choices test. The students’ attitude towards the learning process was gathered by observasional checklist and fieldnotes. The data of students’ reading ability was obtained by the students test which was assessed through scoring rubric. The result showed that the students’ problem in reading beside the comprehension was in their motivation. Furthermore, the students’ reading ability and students’ interest in learning process of reading improved. It was proven by the students’ achievement test and also the students’ enthusiasm in doing the activities during the teaching and learning process used wall chart. In conclusion, the media was able in improving the students’ reading ability in Analytical Exposition Text. The writer hopes that what the writer has done will give the English teacher inspiration to conduct wall chart in the classroom.
