Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the effect of the Copy The Master strategy using audiovisual media on the narrative writing skills of seventh-grade students at Wustha PKPPS Hidayatul Qomariyah. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with an experimental research type, employing a quasi-experimental design. The sample includes class VII A and VII B, with a total of 32 students. The researcher designated class VII A as the experimental group, taught using the Copy The Master strategy through audiovisual media, while class VII B served as the control group, taught without this strategy. The assessment results indicate that students in class VII A showed considerable improvement in narrative writing compared to those in the control class, VII B, who were taught using conventional methods. Based on data from pretest and post-test scores analyzed using the independent sample t-test, a significance value of 0.039 was obtained. This indicates a significant difference (0.039 < 0.05) between the experimental and control groups in narrative writing scores. The descriptive analysis shows that the average post-test score for the control group was 70.25, while the experimental group’s average post-test score was 76.5, indicating a higher average for the experimental group. In conclusion, there is a significant effect of using the Copy The Master strategy with audiovisual media on the narrative writing skills of seventh-grade students at Wustha Hidayatul Qomariyah in the 2024/2025 academic year.
