Abstract

Effectiveness of Kahoot vs. PowerPoint in improving student learning outcomes: A quasi-experimental study Abstract: This research aims to determine the different learning outcomes of students who use PowerPoint media and the learning outcomes of students who use Kahoot media. The subjects in this research were all class XI OTKP students at Teuku Umar Vocational School, Semarang. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research. The data collection method uses multiple-choice questions. The data analysis method uses the normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and n-gain test. The research results showed that the average pre-test score for the control class was 49.65 and the average post-test score was 69.76. The average pre-test score for the experimental class was 46.71 and the average post-test score was 85.65. There was an increase in learning outcomes (n-gain) in the control class of 0.38, while an increase in learning outcomes (n-gain) in the experimental class was 0.72. The conclusion is that the learning outcomes of students who use Kahoot media are higher than the learning outcomes of students who use PowerPoint media.
