Abstract Motivation in choosing a study program is a driving factor that influences individuals to take certain actions or achieve specific goals. This study aims to describe and analyze the differences in motivation between students who graduated from Senior High School and students who graduated from Vocational High School in selecting the Family Welfare Education study program. This descriptive-comparative research involved a population of 233 students, with a sample of 70 students selected using proportional random sampling, consisting of 34 graduates from Vocational High School and 36 graduates from Senior High School. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire distributed via Google Forms using a Likert scale. The results indicate that students’ motivation in choosing the Family Welfare Education study program falls into the moderate category, with graduates from Vocational High School showing higher motivation compared to graduates from Senior High School. Further analysis confirms a significant difference in motivation between the two groups, where graduates from Vocational High School exhibit greater motivation in selecting the Family Welfare Education study program.
