Abstract

Learning interest is an important factor that affects learning outcomes and motivates students to be active in learning. The Team Games Tournament (TGT) method effectively increases learning interest by combining elements of games and team competition, creating a fun and dynamic learning atmosphere. TGT encourages active participation, cooperation, and healthy competition, thus increasing students' interest in learning. This study aims to: 1) Know the implementation of the TGT type cooperative learning method in PAI subjects in class VII of SMPN 2 West Karawang, 2) Knowing the interest in learning PAI in class VII of SMPN 2 West Karawang, and 3) Knowing the effect of TGT type cooperative learning method on students' interest in learning PAI subjects in class VII of SMPN 2 West Karawang.This research approach is quantitative with ex post facto method. The sample consisted of 80 respondents from a population of 409 people, selected by cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential data analysis.The research results indicate: 1) The depiction of the Team Games Tournament method in Islamic education for seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Karawang Barat is mostly in the medium category with 58 respondents (73%), 2) The depiction of learning interest in Islamic education for seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Karawang Barat is mostly in the medium category with 59 respondents (74%), and 3) The Team Games Tournament method has an impact on learning interest in Islamic education for seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Karawang Barat. This is evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The impact of the Team Games Tournament method on learning interest is 62.8%.
