Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang iklan layanan masyarakat yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap bahaya konsumsi penyu dan telur penyu, khususnya di Kota Pariaman. Konsumsi telur penyu tidak hanya bertentangan dengan hukum konservasi, tetapi juga memiliki risiko kesehatan serius seperti keracunan, peningkatan kolesterol, dan dampak negatif lainnya akibat akumulasi zat berbahaya pada tubuh penyu. Selain itu, eksploitasi telur penyu juga mengancam kelestarian spesies yang sudah terancam punah. Metode Perancangan iklan dilakukan dengan pendekatan desain komunikasi visual, memadukan elemen motion graphic, infografik, dan media digital seperti media sosial. Penelitian ini melibatkan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada masyarakat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas masyarakat memahami pentingnya edukasi melalui media iklan layanan masyarakat, yang dinilai efektif dalam mengubah pola pikir serta perilaku. Merancang iklan layanan Masyarakat bahaya konsumsi penyu dan telur penyu sebagai media utama, diharapkan masyarakat dapat lebih sadar akan risiko konsumsi telur penyu, mendukung pelestarian lingkungan, dan mengurangi permintaan produk berbahan dasar penyu. Upaya ini juga memberikan kontribusi pada edukasi publik dan mendukung pemerintah dalam konservasi sumber daya alam hayati. Consuming turtle eggs not only violates conservation laws but also poses significant health risks, including poisoning, increased cholesterol levels, and other negative effects caused by the accumulation of harmful substances in turtles' bodies. Additionally, the exploitation of turtle eggs threatens the survival of already endangered species. The advertisement design method was carried out using a visual communication design approach, combining elements of motion graphics, infographics, and digital media such as social media. This research involved data collection through observations, interviews with relevant parties, and the distribution of questionnaires to the public. The results indicated that the majority of respondents understood the importance of education through public service advertisements, which were deemed effective in changing perceptions and behaviors. By designing a public service advertisement focused on the dangers of consuming sea turtles and their eggs as the primary medium, it is expected that the public will become more aware of the risks associated with turtle egg consumption, support environmental conservation, and reduce the demand for turtle-based products. This initiative also contributes to public education and supports government efforts in conserving biological natural resources.
