Abstract

This research aims (1) to describe the use of the alphabet clock media in Indonesian language subjects on writing skills, (2) to determine the results of learning writing skills by using the alphabet letter clock media in class 1 of SD Negeri 46 Banda Aceh. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were 1 grade 1 teacher and 21 grade 1 students at SD Negeri 46 Banda Aceh. Data collection techniques in this research are observation and tests. Aspects of assessment in short story writing skills include clarity of letters, correct use of spelling, correct use of words in sentences, integration between sentences, neatness and suitability to the object. The research results showed that the use of alphabet clock media in students' writing skills was declared successful with an average score of 78.76 and included in the good category. The recapitulation results showed that 7 out of a total of 21 students with a percentage of 34% obtained grades with a very good predicate. Then, 11 out of a total of 21 students with a percentage of 52% received good grades. Furthermore, 3 out of 21 students with a percentage of 14% obtained sufficient grades. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the alphabet clock media is effectively used in teaching writing skills for class I students at SD Negeri 46 Banda Aceh.
