This study explores the application of the resource-based view (RBV) strategy in school-based management (SBM) in Vocational High Schools (SMK) for community development in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. The focus is empowering school communities and creating socio-economic impacts by optimizing local resources. This study includes a literature analysis from 2020-2024, highlighting the relevance of SBM in ASEAN countries in preparing a skilled workforce. By adopting RBV, SMK is expected to contribute significantly to community development and improve local capabilities and competitiveness. The results show that the integration of RBV in SBM can increase community involvement, collaborate with the business world, and enhance the quality of the local workforce. This study underlines the importance of partnerships, training, and policy support for the successful implementation of RBV in SMK.
