The Role of Parents in Forming the Islamic Identity of Early Children in the Digital Era

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in more depth how the role of parents in shaping the Islamic identity of early childhood in the midst of digitalization. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The sample in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique in five families. Data were collected through interview, observation and documentation techniques, and analyzed through 4 stages, namely data reduction, data display, verification, and drawing conclusions. Data validity testing was carried out using the triangulation method. The results of the study indicate that in shaping the Islamic identity of early childhood, parents play a role in providing good examples, instilling Islamic values at home, supervising and directing the use of technology, involving children in religious activities, increasing parents' digital literacy, and integrating Islamic values in everyday life.Keywords: parents; Islamic identity; early childhood; digital era
