<![CDATA[Flooding is a common natural disaster in Indonesia, especially in regions with heavy rainfall and insufficient drainage systems. North Kolaka Regency is among the areas vulnerable to floods, particularly during the rainy season. This issue is exacerbated by climate change and environmental damage, which diminish the ground’s ability to absorb water, leading to floods that cause material losses, infrastructure damage, and even loss of life. To strengthen local preparedness, community outreach initiatives were carried out to raise awareness about the importance of developing flood contingency plans. These initiatives used a participatory approach, engaging the local community and stakeholders in the dissemination, planning process, and disaster preparedness training. The outcome showed an enhanced understanding, readiness, and improved coordination between relevant agencies in flood response efforts.]]>
