<![CDATA[Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution has an important role in instilling Islamic and moral values to students. However, in practice there are challenges related to the perception that memorizing the Alfiyah book is merely an obligation without understanding and implementing the moral values contained therein. As a result, the purpose of pesantren education in shaping the character and morals of students is less than optimal. This study aims to reveal the influence of memorizing the Alfiyah book on the practice of reading yellow books as well as the process of internalizing moral values among students at Mahad Aly Annur II Al-Murtadlo, Malang. The research method used is qualitative with a field study approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with several informants, and documentation related to Alfiyah memorization learning activities. Data triangulation techniques were also applied to ensure the validity and validity of the research data. Data analysis was carried out using a descriptive qualitative method to describe the impact of memorization on the ability to read books and the formation of students' moral character. The results of the study indicate that memorizing Alfiyah not only improves the academic ability of students in reading yellow books, but also contributes significantly to the formation of moral attitudes such as humility, respect for teachers, sincerity, fortitude, and social empathy.
