Turbocharger adalah alat bantu yang digerakkan oleh gas buang auxiliary diesel engine dan berfungsi memompa udara untuk proses pembilasan dan pembakaran di dalam silinder. Kinerja mesin ini sangat bergantung pada turbocharger. Kerusakan pada turbocharger, khususnya pada bearing, dapat menurunkan performa mesin secara signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab kerusakan bearing turbocharger, dampaknya terhadap auxiliary engine, serta upaya perbaikannya di MV Armada Sejati. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan fishbone. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan disebabkan oleh tercampurnya oli pelumas dengan gas buang, keausan sealing bush, dan tersumbatnya lubang oil pump. Dampaknya antara lain berkurangnya suplai udara, kerusakan ring piston, dan pembakaran yang tidak sempurna sehingga daya mesin menurun. Upaya pencegahan dilakukan dengan perawatan rutin turbocharger, penggantian komponen lama, serta pergantian oli pelumas secara berkala. A turbocharger is an auxiliary exhaust device that is driven by the auxiliary exhaust of a diesel engine and functions to pump air for the rinsing and combustion process inside the cylinder. The performance of this engine is highly dependent on the turbocharger. Damage to the turbocharger, especially to the bearings, can significantly degrade engine performance. This study aims to identify the cause of damage to the turbocharger bearing, its impact on the auxiliary engine, and its repair efforts in MV Armada Sejati. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a fishbone approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the damage was caused by the mixing of lubricating oil with exhaust gases, the wear of the sealing bush, and the clogging of the oil pump holes. The impact includes reduced air supply, damage to the piston rings, and imperfect combustion so that engine power decreases.
