Abstract

Background:Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health challenge, ranking as the 13th leading cause of death worldwide according to WHO 2021. In Indonesia, only 351,936 of the estimated 840,000 TB cases were detected in 2020, with a Case Detection Rate (CDR) of 41.7%, far below the national target of 70%. At the Paal X Health Center in 2024, only 277 (34.62%) of 800 targeted suspected TB cases were detected, leaving 523 (65.38%) unidentified. Methods:This descriptive study collected primary data through interviews with health workers, TB cadres, patients, and families, as well as questionnaires completed by 40 respondents. Secondary data were obtained from TB patient records and health center reports. Data were analyzed using brainstorming and prioritization methods. Results:Most respondents (62.5%) had low knowledge of TB, and 57.5% showed poor awareness and behavior. The low detection rate of suspected TB cases (65.38% unidentified) was primarily caused by limited community knowledge and awareness. Conclusion:The study emphasizes the need for routine TB education and outreach programs using available media to improve community awareness and increase the detection rate of suspected TB cases. Keywords: Tuberculosis, Suspected TB, Case Detection Rate (CDR)
