Breakfast marks the first meal consumed each day. Although it plays an important role in meeting daily nutritional needs and supporting routine activities, many people tend to neglect this habit. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Balanced Nutrition Guidelines, most people have not adopted the habit of eating breakfast regularly. The time between dinner and breakfast is around ten hours, which often causes a drop in blood sugar levels the body's main source of energy in the morning. This drop in blood sugar levels can make it difficult to maintain concentration during the learning process. Many factors can interfere with concentration, which can come from internal or external sources. Internal factors include personal issues such as low motivation or health conditions that hinder cognitive function, while external factors are related to the surrounding environment, including the learning environment, available tools, and the overall atmosphere. Considering these factors, researchers were motivated to investigate the relationship between breakfast consumption and concentration during learning among elementary school students, with a specific focus on SD Swasta Budisatrya Medan.ABSTRAKSarapan menandai makanan pertama yang dikonsumsi setiap hari. Meskipun memiliki peran penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi harian dan mendukung aktivitas rutin, banyak orang cenderung mengabaikan kebiasaan ini. Menurut Pedoman Gizi Seimbang Kementerian Kesehatan Indonesia, sebagian besar penduduk belum mengadopsi kebiasaan sarapan secara teratur. Jarak waktu antara makan malam dan sarapan mencapai sekitar sepuluh jam, yang seringkali menyebabkan penurunan kadar gula darah sumber energi utama tubuh pada pagi hari. Penurunan kadar gula darah ini dapat menyebabkan kesulitan dalam menjaga konsentrasi selama proses belajar. Banyak faktor yang dapat mengganggu konsentrasi, yang dapat berasal dari sumber internal maupun eksternal. Faktor internal meliputi masalah pribadi seperti motivasi rendah atau kondisi kesehatan yang menghambat fungsi kognitif, sementara faktor eksternal berkaitan dengan lingkungan sekitar, termasuk lingkungan belajar, alat yang tersedia, dan suasana secara keseluruhan. Mengingat pertimbangan tersebut, peneliti termotivasi untuk meneliti hubungan antara konsumsi sarapan dan konsentrasi saat belajar di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar, dengan fokus khusus pada SD Swasta Budisatrya Medan.
