<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the observed gap between the performance targets set by management and the actual achievements of several employees at PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Mahakam. This discrepancy is suspected to be influenced by varying levels of work motivation among employees. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of work motivation on employee performance. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey method and simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 50 active employees selected using a total sampling technique. The primary instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire based on a four-point Likert scale. The validity and reliability tests confirmed that all questionnaire items were valid and reliable. The results of the regression analysis show that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a regression coefficient of 0.927. This implies that an increase in work motivation tends to be followed by an improvement in employee performance. These findings support Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and Herzberg’s two-factor theory, which emphasize the importance of both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in enhancing job performance. Therefore, it is recommended that management strengthen motivational factors to sustainably improve employee productivity and effectiveness.]]>
