Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the traditional cooperative game “Tiga Jadi” on students’ solidarity and social interaction at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving non-equivalent control and experimental groups. A total of 72 seventh-grade students were selected through purposive sampling, divided into an experimental group (class VII-E) and control group (class VII-B). The treatment was applied through the integration of the ‘Tiga Jadi’ game in two Social Studies subject (IPS) class meetings, focusing on the topic of social mobility. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire, and analayzed using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group demonstrated higher mean scores in both solidarity and social interaction compared to the control group. These findings indicate that the structured and role-based nature of the ‘Tiga Jadi’ game effectively enchances students’ social skills, communication, and empathy. Therefore, traditional games such as ‘Tiga Jadi’ can be recommended as innovative learning strategies to support the development of character education aligned with Pancasila Student Profile.
