Abstract

Gunung Patuha terletak di Jawa Barat danmemiliki kondisi tektonik yang dipengaruhi oleh aktivitassubduksi di bagian selatan Pulau Jawa. Aktivitas vulkanikyang menghasilkan berbagai jenis batuan, termasuk tuf,lapili, breksi vulkanik, skoria, dan aglomerat. Penelitianini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik erupsiGunung Patuha berdasarkan analisis stratigrafi batuandi Kawah Putih. Metode yang digunakan adalah metodedeskriptif kualitatif, dengan data primer diperoleh melaluiobservasi lapangan dan wawancara, serta data sekunder daristudi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kawasanini mencerminkan dinamika vulkanisme yang kompleks,dengan berbagai fase erupsi, dari eksplosif hingga efusif.Batuan tuf dan lapili mengindikasikan erupsi eksplosifyang berulang, sementara keberadaan skoria dan aglomeratmencerminkan aktivitas efusif dengan pelepasan gas yangsignifikan. Namun, erupsi Gunung Patuha belum mencapaiintensitas erupsi Plinian, sebagaimana ditunjukkan olehtidak adanya deposit pumis yang signifikan dan distribusimaterial yang cenderung lokal. Penelitian ini diharapkandapat memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang prosesvulkanisme Gunung Patuha. Temuan ini juga diharapkandapat berkontribusi pada upaya mitigasi bencana vulkanikdi kawasan tersebut. Kata kunci: Gunung Patuha, stratigrafi, vulkanisme, erupsi.   Abstract Mount Patuha is located in West Java and hastectonic conditions influenced by subduction activity in thesouthern part of Java Island. Volcanic activity produced avariety of rock types, including tuff, lapilli, volcanic breccia,scoria, and agglomerate. This research aims to identify theeruption characteristics of Mount Patuha based on theanalysis of rock stratigraphy in Kawah Putih. The methodused is a descriptive qualitative method, with primary dataobtained through field observations and interviews, andsecondary data from literature studies. The results showedthat the area reflects complex volcanism dynamics, withvarious eruption phases, from explosive to effusive. Tuff andlapilli rocks indicate repeated explosive eruptions, whilethe presence of scoria and agglomerate reflects effusiveactivity with significant gas release. However, the eruptionof Mount Patuha has not reached the intensity of a Plinianeruption, as indicated by the absence of significant pumicedeposits and the localized distribution of materials. Thisresearch is expected to provide an in-depth understandingof the volcanism process of Mount Patuha. The findings arealso expected to contribute to volcanic disaster mitigationefforts in the region. Keywords: Mount Patuha, stratigraphy, volcanism,eruption.
