This study aims to examine and analyze the pesantren education model in the perspective of traditional and modern Islamic literature through a library research approach. Traditional pesantren are known for their yellow book-based educationpatterns, the close relationship between santri and kyai, and the cultivation of moral and spiritual values through sorogan, bandongan, and halaqah methods. On the other hand, modern pesantren are present as a response to the times by applying anintegrative curriculum between religious and general sciences, active learning approaches, and professional institutional management. The results of the study show that although there are significant differences in methods, curriculum, andinstitutional systems, both models have similarities in educational goals: forming Muslim individuals who are knowledgeable, moral, and independent. This article recommends the development of an integrative education model that combinestraditional and modern strengths as an effort to advance contextual and globally competitive pesantren.
