The palm tree is utilized for various purposes, such as producing palm sugar, making traditional drinks, as well as raw materials for handicrafts and construction. In particular, the community mostly utilizes the nira water produced by the palm tree as an important raw material for making palm sugar. The nira water produced is utilized by a group of people in Kekait Village to produce palm sugar that has a very good quality with a distinctive natural sweet taste without any additional sweeteners.
