The analysis of cooking oil scarcity is an important study in understanding market dynamics and its impact on society. In recent years, this scarcity phenomenon has triggered various economic and social problems. This study aimed to identify the factors that cause the scarcity of cooking oil, including price fluctuations and government policies. The target of this study was news about "Cooking Oil Scarcity" with a total of 6 news from the media iNews.id February-April 2023 edition. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with documentation data collection and data selection techniques, which were analyzed using the framing analysis theory of Zhongdang Pan & Gerald M. Kosicki with four analysis tools (Syntax, Script, Thematic, Rhetorical). The conclusion of iNews' framing analysis in framing the news of the scarcity of cooking oil, the media tended to build different narratives depending on the focus and viewpoint taken in the news. So in this case, iNews was more pro-oriented to traders and the public. The author concluded that iNews' framing in reporting the scarcity of cooking oil was due to hoarding.
