Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Nomophobia with Phubbing behavior in 2021 UNY students who use TikTok social media. The method used is quantitative using a correlational design. This research was conducted at Yogyakarta State University. The sample in this study amounted to 385 people obtained using the Proportionate Cluster Random Sampling technique. Data collection in this study was in the form of a questionnaire via google form. The instrument used is the Nomophobia scale with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.911 and the Phubbing Scale with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.909. Data analysis techniques using pearson product moment correlation tests. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between Nomophobia with Phubbing behavior in 2021 UNY students who use TikTok social media, indicated by a significance value of 0.000 0.05. In conclusion, individuals with high levels of nomophobia find it difficult to control their mobile phone usage, making them more prone to phubbing in social situations
