Abstract

In Japanese fukushi iyoiyo, toutou and yatto when translated into Indonesian have the same meaning, namely "finally". The different meanings of the three fukushi will be easily understood by native Japanese speakers when viewed in terms of their semantic knowledge and context, however foreign speakers often have difficulty understanding the differences of the three fukushi when speaking them. This study aims to obtain a description of the differences and similarities of fukushi iyoiyo, toutou, yatto in terms of structure and meaning. There are 19 Japanese sentence data sourced from corpus data. This study uses the comparative theory of Hapidi's study (2013). This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The result of the research is fukushi iyoiyo explaining verbs, nouns, adjectives. Fukushi iyoiyo means "finally" and "more and more". Fukushi toutou explains verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Fukushi toutou means "finally". Fukushi yatto describes verbs, adverbs and functions as a predicate. Fukushi yatto means "finally", "with great difficulty", "mediocrely".
