<![CDATA[Pier 009, one of the ship docks at Tanjung Priok Port for inter-island domestic containers within the territory of Indonesia. The pier length 0 – 404 meters and draft depth of 8 meters, only for ships that has maximum dock of 8 meters. With these characteristics, container ships do not arrive regularly a day. Last three years, the number of container ship visits has decreased. The number of available scouting/tugging service activities remains the same. Therefore, author in this research made a case study of ships related to optimizing the tug and pilot fleet at pier 009. The optimization method using a linear programming in Excel software to maximize/minimize the output results. It was found that the annual utility of tugboat service performance was around 2%. Conclusions for optimizing the tugboat fleet for pier 009: 4 tugboats are sufficient, namely 2 tugboats with a power of 1240 HP for container ships with an LOA of 70 – 150 meters and 2 other tugboats with a power of 3200 HP for container ships with an LOA 151 – 250 meters. This ship decision is based on Ministerial Regulation number 93 of 2014 for the LOA size provisions, number of ships and minimum tug capacity.]]>
