Abstract

The research employs adescriptive qualitative method with content analysis, examining key scenes from the film alongside supportingliterature. The findings reveal that Belfort applied three main forms of manipulation: persuasive language, emotional manipulation, and financial incentives. These strategies had distinct impacts at three levels:employees who were emotionally driven yet exploited, investors who suffered financial losses, and theorganization Stratton Oakmont which collapsed due to illegal practices. The analysis further highlights theconnection between Belfort’s leadership style and French & Raven’s power bases, Weber’s concept ofauthority, and Foucault’s perspective on control. The study underscores the importance of avoidingmanipulative leadership to safeguard organizational reputation and sustainability, while suggesting furtherresearch to compare similar phenomena in other films or real contexts
