This article discusses self-esteem (self-esteem) in the perspective of Minangkabau culture using references from relevant literature studies, in its concept self-esteem (self-esteem) is a self-assessment that is made by a person towards himself based on his relationship with other people. Self-assessment or evaluation is influenced by the culture attached to him, as a result of individual interactions with the environment. In Minangkabau society there are several characteristics of self-esteem based on the Minangkabau cultural values that are held or embraced. There are at least four distinctive characteristics of Minangkabau culture, namely matrilineal, Islamic, wandering, and petatah-petitih. In this study, it will be discussed and studied how self-esteem (self-esteem) in the perspective or perspective of Minangkabau culture. The discussion in this literature article includes the notion of self-esteem (self-esteem), the factors that influence self-esteem (self-esteem), Minangkabau culture, Minangkabau cultural values, and self-esteem (self-esteem) in terms of Minangkabau culture.
