This study aims to determine the implementation of the Project Based Learning model can improve the learning activities of class VIII students in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 07 Bengkulu City. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Data collection techniques by conducting observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses learning activity assessment criteria such as excellent, good, sufficient, less and calculates whether or not there is an increase in student learning activities with the t test. Based on the results of the study, it is evident from the results of Cycle I that the average student learning activity is only 26.29 with sufficient criteria and the results of Cycle II that the average student learning activity increased to 33.87 with good criteria and the results of the analysis that has been carried out using the t test at a significant level and degrees of freedom 30 show that t count = 6.01 ? t table 1.697 means that there is a significant increase in student learning activities from cycle I to cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model can increase student learning activities. The implications may include how this model can improve student learning activities. Recommendations may suggest training for teachers on the use of this model, or further research to test its activities on different groups of students.
