Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam dunia bisnis, Hak Kekayaan Intelektual atau HKI memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Perusahaan yang telah mendaftarkan hak cipta merek dapat memperkuat citra, membangun kepercayaan konsumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan proses pembuatan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual (HKI), khususnya merek, bagi UMKM Wanyabi yang berfokus pada makanan dan minuman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan observasi lapangan. Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) menunjukkan bahwa UMKM Wanyabi menyadari pentingnya memiliki HKI, terutama merek, untuk melindungi identitas dan produk mereka. UMKM Wanyabi merespons positif terhadap bantuan dalam proses pembuatan HKI, termasuk promosi produk dalam acara Ote lion, pembuatan logo baru, dan poster promosi. Namun, implementasi pembuatan HKI UMKM Wanyabi mengalami kendala signifikan, terutama terkait dengan pihak Dinas Perindustrian, Perdagangan, Koperasi, Usaha Kecil Dan Menengah (PPKUKM) yang berlokasi di luar kota. Kendala ini menghambat kelancaran proses, menjadi hambatan utama dalam mendapatkanperlindungan HKI. Kesimpulannya, meskipun UMKM Wanyabi antusias dalam pembuatan HKI, tantangan administratif dengan pihak berwenang menjadi hambatan. Diperlukan upaya lebih lanjut untuk memastikan akses yang mudah dan efisien bagi UMKM dalam mendapatkan perlindungan HKI, serta meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya HKI dalam pengembangan bisnis UMKM. ABSTRACTIn the business world, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), particularly trademarks, play a crucial role. Companies that have registered trademark copyrights can strengthen their image and build consumer trust. This research aims to implement the process of creating Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), specifically trademarks, for Wanyabi MSMEs, focusing on food and beverages. The research method employed is qualitative with a field observation approach.The results of the Community Service Program (PKM) indicate that Wanyabi MSME are aware of the importance of having IPR, especially trademarks, to protect their identity and products. Wanyabi MSMEs responded positively to assistance in the IPR creation process, including promoting products at the Otelion event, creating new logos, and promotional posters. However, the implementation of IPR creation for Wanyabi MSMEs encountered significant challenges, particularly related to the Department of Industry, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) located outside the city. This constraint hindered the smooth progression of the process and became a major obstacle in obtaining IPR protection. In conclusion, despite the enthusiasm of Wanyabi MSMEs in IPR creation, administrative challenges with the authorities pose obstacles. Further efforts are needed to ensure easy and efficient access for MSMEs to obtain IPR protection. Additionally, there is a need to enhance awareness of the importance of IPR in the development of MSMEs businesses.
